गणेश चतुर्थी पर विधि-विधान हवन-पजन कर गजानन की प्रतिमाओं की स्थापना कराई गई थी। पूरे जिले में आधा सैकड़ा स्थानों पर समूहिक रूप से पंडालों में गणपति विराजित कराए गए थे। इसके अलावा बड़ी संख्या में घरों में भी भक्तों ने बाप्पा की चौकी सजाई थी। सात दिनों तक लगातार पूजन के बाद रविवार से विदाई का सिलसिला शुरू हो गया। शहर की आवास विकास कॉलोनी सेक्टर नंबर एक में स्थापित गणपति की आरती उतारकर पूजन किया गया।
उसके बाद शुरू हुआ विसर्जन का सिलसिला। बैंड-बाजों और ढोल-नगाड़ों के धुनों पर श्रद्धालुओं ने जमकर धमाल मचाते हुए पूरी कॉलोनी में गजानन की विदाई यात्रा निकाली। अबीर-गुलाल उड़ाते हुए जयकारों के साथ बाप्पा की सवारी आगे बढ़ती गई। दोपहर में देवी रोड पर ईशन नदी किनारे प्रशासन द्वारा कराए गए इंतजामों के बीच गणपति प्रतिमा का विसर्जन कर दिया गया। इसके बार भंडारे का आयोजन कर श्रद्धालुओं का प्रसाद का वितरण कराया गया।
