यातायात नियमों के उल्लंघन पर सरकार द्वारा की गई नई व्यवस्था के बाद लोगों को कानून का पाठ पढ़ाने के लिए खुद एसपी ने सडक पर उतरकर कमान संभाली।
षनिवार को कचहरी रोड पर पुलिस द्वारा वाहनों की चेकिंग का बडा अभियान चलाया गया। बिना हेलमेट और कागजातों के अभाव में चलने वाले वाहन चालकों को रोककर उनके चालान काटे गए। दोपहर में खुद पुलिस अधीक्षक अजय षंकर राय ने कोतवाली के बाहर कमान संभाल ली।
बगैर हेलमेट और तीन सवारियों को बिठाकर चलने वाले चालकों को रोककर उनके चालान कटवाए। एसपी ने लोगों को सलाह देते हुए कहा कि यह कानून उनकी सुरक्षा के लिए ही है। पुलिस कर्मियों को निर्देष दिए कि नियमों का उल्लंघन करने पर कार्रवाई की जाए। इस कार्रवाई में किसी के साथ भी सौतेला व्यवहार न हो। यदि पुलिस कर्मी भी नियमों का उल्लंघन करते हैं तो उनका भी नए नियमों के मुताबिक ही जुर्माना किया जाएगा।
पुलिस की सख्ती से वाहन चालकों में खलबली मची हुई है। षनिवार को कार्रवाई षुरू हुई तो लोग जान बचाकर गलियों से भागते दिखे। महिलाओं और युवतियों को भी रोककर उनके चालान कटवाए गए।
